Design Process

We value the design process and the partnership with our clients…

Your home is your haven – we completely get that.  And we know that it needs to reflect your personality and accommodate your particular lifestyle.  We also understand that it is a big investment and very personal.  It can get overwhelming very fast with all the decisions involved which is why you need the right partner at your side to guide you through the process.

Chemistry – Is it There?

The first step, in any relationship, is the first encounter.

Our first meeting takes place in the showroom.  It gives both the designer and client the opportunity to get to know one another and discuss the scope of the project whether it be a remodel or new construction.  It is a chance for us to learn about you, and your project –what you hope to accomplish and how The Cabinetry can help fulfill those goals.  By the end of the meeting you will know more about our design process, the products & services we offer as well as an idea of the cost associated with your project.

First Date – Is it a Match?

After the initial introduction has been made and we’ve had a chance to get to know each other a decision is made to move onto the next level of the relationship which is the design phase.  This is when we make a site visit to gather dimensions or start working from your architectural plans to design and prepare a presentation for you.  For this we charge a non-refundable $350 fee, which is applied to your cabinetry purchase.

 Commitment – I Do!

We love to unveil the design to our clients!  We pride ourselves on the thoughtfulness and creativity involved in how we work.  We look at your space from different angles and perspectives and incorporate our years of experience and your vision into the design.  We often hear, “I didn’t think of doing it that way!”   We present to you the resulting design ideas with our 3D software; suggest finish options for cabinetry, counters, hardware and tile; and provide the associated pricing.

After we’ve wowed you and you are ready to move forward with us we ask for 10% of the estimated cabinet cost as a deposit toward your purchase.  This is the point at which you may take our ideas and a set of the design plans with you.  We then continue to work with you to finalize the design until you are ready to order the cabinetry.  A 40% deposit is required at this time.  The cabinetry balance is due when the cabinetry arrives in our warehouse and if you are not ready for the cabinetry when it arrives storage is available for a fee.

Ready to get started?  Just give us a call and we’ll look forward to meeting you.  Let us know how we can help you turn your vision into a reality.  It’s what we love to do!
