Hopefully you are on our mailing list and received our latest recipe card featuring this delightful dish. I absolutely love making this in summer! You can also actually pan sear the tuna if you don’t have a grill or want to make all year round. It is simple to prepare and is sooo delicious. I made it last night for dinner so here is the recipe in case you didn’t receive the recipe via snail mail…
2 tbsp. sesame oil
4 (4 oz.) Tuna fillets
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1 avocado, pitted, peeled and chopped
1/2 red onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp. pickled ginger for sushi, chopped
1 tbsp. lime juice
1 tbsp. finely chopped fresh cilantro
In a shallow dish combine Ponzu sauce and oil. Add fillets: cover and refrigerate 1 hour, turning occasionally.
To make the salsa – combine in a bowl the cucumber, onion, avocado, ginger, lime juice and cilantro. Toss and set aside.
Coat grill rack with non-stick spray and grill fillets for 3-5 minutes per side to desired doneness (or cook with left-over sauce in frying pan on med-high heat so both sides of tuna are seared but inside is still raw).
Slice tuna and top with salsa! Enjoy!

I just came back from a training session in Plymouth on 3D rendering using the Autokitchen design software that we currently use to create our kitchen designs. We have been using the AutoCAD compatible program for a few years as we love the clean, detailed drawings the software creates. It is great to having beautiful perspectives to show clients to help them envision a new space they are creating for their home. We are eager to start using the rendering program to provide our clients with a colorized conceptual image of a their new kitchen or bath as an added feature to our design services. Here are few examples of kitchen and bath renderings using the software. They are absolutely stunning!! The realism and detail is amazing!!

We are finishing up another project in Hull, MA. It is a bar installation. The clients love to entertain in their seaside home and wanted to add a bar to their living room. The open floor plan allows for a great space to enjoy company and the beautiful surrounding landscape. The client chose one of my favorite colors, Vineyard paint done in a matte sheen. The color is a perfect alternative to white. This neutral color works great in the space and compliments the ocean outside visible from the adjoining windows. The clients chose a granite top called White Zito or Super White. It has the look of marble, having a white field with gray striations throughout, however is much more forgiving than a Carrera would be. When I arrived to finalize some last minute details the client was in the process of selecting some beautiful woven chairs to go with their new bar. They are so excited about their new cabinetry complete with wine cubes, glass holders and a beverage fridge! They also love the hidden storage in the back of the peninsula that blends seamlessly with the wainscot detail.

We are excited to be working on a new townhouse development in Humarock, MA. We are currently designing our seventh kitchen for Mike Solimando, the developer behind this new community. The townhouses are situated across the inlet in Humarock adjacent to The Bridgeway restaurant. Each kitchen and bathroom has been custom designed for the new homeowners suiting their individual taste and lifestyle. Although the layouts within the townhouses have had a similar footprint, the colors, materials, fixtures and overall style for each design has been unique and driven by the homeowner who will be inhabiting them. On the last photography shoot in Humarock, one of our photographers, Colleen Dolan, snapped some great exterior shots of the site. Some of the kitchens and baths we recently finished can be seen in our Gallery. We look forward to completing the next kitchen and will be sure to post images of the final design once it has been installed this August!
