Food, Fun & Sun!

I just returned from a vacation in Costa Rica. It was such a great experience!! Since I saw and learned so much about the country and culture I figured my next few entries would be sharing it with all of you…A great place we stopped on the way from Arenal to Monteverde was Café y Macadamia. It was this cute café positioned on a hill overlooking Lake Arenal. The open air café, delicious baked goods and refreshing ice coffee made for a delightful treat and stopping point to take in some fresh air and Costa Rican atmosphere. I absolutely loved the view – bright sun, green grass, blue sky and cow companions. There was a wood trellis with these amazing flowers that seemed to be hanging by a thread that enclosed the seating area. The baked goods are made on site by locals who also prepare a variety of fresh drinks, coffees and smoothies. I was able to snag a hot brownie with fresh macadamia nuts right out of the oven to go with my Volcano ice coffee! Absolutely amazing sitting on the patio and enjoying a delicious snack!! What a great memory!
