Photo Finish

Friday I spent the day with one of our photographers Colleen Dolan. Colleen is a recent graduate of The New England School of Photography (NESOP) in Boston. Colleen always does such a great job getting the perfect shots for us to add to our online gallery. I eagerly await the final photos from her. It’s so amazing to see the final results of a project..the way everything comes together to transform a space.Once we arrive at a shoot we often style the kitchens with homeowners wares. It’s important to edit the accessories in the photographs to keep them simple and clean. It’s often not how the kitchen will actually remain – stripped of so many personal and practical elements but for a photo presentation it’s usually the best way to portray the space. After we get the kitchen prepped Coleen goes to work capturing different angles and details of the kitchen. I joined in the fun and took a couple of my own photos of Colleen in action!Bathrooms are very hard to shoot. They generally are compact so getting a good shot of a vanity can be challenging. This was one case where we couldn’t really get a great photo but it was such a unique sink that that I snapped a quick pic to post. The Mexican, hand-painted sink the clients bought on one of their travels was the inspiration for this small powder room. They selected a Tiger wood top and a white vanity to compliment the sink. The beautiful, warm wood accent is perfect with the sink!!Colleen and I had a great day Friday.  We were able to photograph two kitchens and some of the renovations we completed here in the showroom.  Colleen primarily photographs weddings and has recently expanded into portraiture photography.

Her work can be seen on her website and her studio’s website.  I just love this recent photo she took that she shared with me over lunch!  It’s such a beautiful and magical photo capturing such a special moment….
