That’s Entertainment!

I stopped by the site of one of our current kitchen remodels to check-in on the progress of the project and to get a look at the wood top that was delivered for the homeowners island. The wood top was made by Ray Bachand of 60nobscot – Furniture Art Accessories. Ray, a local furniture maker who does fine woodworking, has worked with us in the past and always does a stellar job.

It was fun to see the new space and the dramatic change from a couple of small rooms that never got any use to one large open floor plan which now allows the client to utilize the space for entertaining. The final design includes two islands so Teresa has a working island in the center of the kitchen with a secondary island for seating and additional cabinetry. The sink was positioned in the middle of the kitchen so Teresa can be part of the gatherings interacting with guests, able to play hostess and socialize while continuing to perform the much needed tasks of cooking and clean-up. The corner sink of her prior kitchen and it’s cramped quarters are now memories of the past.

The clients went with Cherry cabinets and a fun metallic accent tile backsplash giving the space a modern feel. The black distressed island and wood top soften the space and add warmth. The couple also added matching cabinetry in the adjoining space to serve as a media center. We are so happy the clients will finally be able to entertain with ease and enjoy the new kitchen they have always dreamed of having!
